Narratological interest

My main area of interest is narrative voice, specificially the 'personality' of the narrator as established independently of the actual narrative content. Also, I am always interested in the 'relationship' between the narrator and the focaliser, and I am also working on expanding Seymour Chatman's notion of fallible filtration. Furthermore, I'm interested in paratexts and annotations, and how the annotational narrative voice relates to main text narrative voice. Finally, I'm interested in self-reflexivity, and how by using the tools established in narratology, we ascertain many self-reflexive references in works not ostensbily self-reflexive in nature (my specific example of this is the 19th century Irish novel).
