My research interests include 19th and 20th century travel writing, graphic novels and comics, French and British modern novel, and the theory of fiction. With regard to narratology, I am especially interested in investigating the limits of diachronic narratology in the nineteenth-century context, and developing cross-media approaches that are geared toward understanding multimodal interaction between words and images.
