Narratological interest

My research focuses on narrative techniques used by British contemporary novelists to create fictional life stories that “make-believe” or, on the contrary, have a distancing effect on a reader, specifically the interrelationship between narrator's (un)reliability and reader's focalisation and their influence on immersion and estrangement. Beside that, I am studying the way self-identity is shaped in I-narratives.
