Narratological interest

My research explores the portrayal of character minds, specifically examining how mental suffering is conceptualised in fictional consciousness. Another strand to my research is postcolonial narratives and the relationship between culture and identity.

I am particularly interested in collective (intermental) versus individual (intramental) thought, social minds, focalisation, point of view, dialogicity, first-person narration, and unreliable narrators.
